2008 INTERNATIONAL GAMBLING CONFERENCE REPORT

During 21-23 February,2008 six councillors and the City Manager attended the above conference in Auckland, New Zealand. 

This was a considerable investment – but one that I feel was worthwhile, given gambling is a major issue in our local government area.

I have written a report from the conference to share with:

• fellow councillors

• council staff

• the local community

This report also contains 11 recommendations which I believe Council should look into as a matter or urgency to address problem gambling in our community.
