I AM puzzled by Joanne Vella's article regarding fees paid to get into football games at grounds owned by councils ("Ngo leads charge against club fee", Fairfield Advance March 12).

I remember as a junior having to pay to get into Belmore Oval to play A grade rugby league in the 1970s.

Nothing is free. Somebody has to pay for the expenses involved in football. If the players have to pay, why not the spectators?

Thang Ngo's involvement in the complaints does not surprise me.

If he had nothing to complain about, he would go looking for it.
