I THINK John Pollock has missed the point (Ngo leads charge against club fee, Fairfield Advance, March 12).

It is no longer the 1970s when local football clubs relied soley on self-funding through chook raffles and the like.

If major clubs can afford to lease council-owned grounds they can afford to waive the $5 admission fee.

The point is that clubs don't seem to have a problem providing "free" courtesy buses to get patrons to the clubs.

This is no doubt very costly, however the same clubs still want to stiff people to go to a council-owned ground.

It is not the NRL. It is local football which the community should be allowed to attend free of charge.
