Letter to the Editor, Name And Address Withheld

FAIRFIELD councillor Thang Ngo said it is time to educate as many people as possible about the dangers of gambling to stop this problem from increasing.

I don't think Cr Ngo is fully aware of the problems pokies create for the poor and down-trodden low income families.
There is no such thing as gambling.

A gamble is when you have the same chances of winning or losing as your opponent. I attended a couple of forums conducted by the Salvos and I agree with their comments, statements and advice.

Again, there is no such thing as gambling. A pokie machine is not a gamble. It's a rip-off - legal theft.

So Cr Ngo should advocate to completely ban this atrocity, not stop it from increasing.
