Mr John Sweeney

Local Area Command

Cabramatta Police

URGENT - HUGHES ST PLAYGROUND

Dear John,

I am writing out of frustration at the apparent lack of a noticeable result in arresting a well-known drug dealer located in the block of units behind 68 Hughes Street.

You and I know where this alleged drug dealing hotspot is and residents tell me they have been reporting this dealer to Cabramatta police for at least six months if not more.

The Hon Helen Sham-Ho MLC and myself have reported it to Cabramatta police almost a month ago on Sunday, 25th June.

I’m sure the drug dealing and injecting is causing (rightful) concern to many innocent members of our community, not the least being children who want to play in a public playground.

I take the liberty of forwarding to you a letter that a group of concerned year 6 pupils sent to me about Hughes Street playground.

Can you confirm if Cabramatta Police are doing any covert operation at the moment targeting this hot-spot. Have Police been able to get a search warrant and raid the property? The information I have from residents is that there has been no raid.

I apologise up-front for the urgent tone of my letter, but in my opinion we can not waste more any time.

Please feel free to give me a call to discuss.

Kind regards,

Thang Ngo
