Our community will be hit
harder through:
Increase
in petrol prices: during May, unleaded petrol in
Sydney
reached $1.62/litre, with average expenditure per family of $4800
a year.Some economists
are predicting $2/litre prices in the near future2.
Some
federal government bureaucrats also claim that the imminent
introduction of FuelWatch could "hurt
Western Sydney
"3.
Increase
in cost of groceries and household essentials as a result increase in
transport costs.
Expenditure
on pokies of $330m a year or 78% of disposable income.
Increase
in council rates of 3.2% to come into effect 1 July 2008.
