Question without Notice –
Cr Ngo They relate to Council’s
policy of leasing out sports grounds and parks to parties such as local Clubs. Can councillors be provided
with a list of all Council sports grounds and parks which are let to other
organisations, including the name of the grounds and the organisation that
leases them and when these leases expires?
Also what times these
organisations can use the grounds under the lease agreement?
Are these times advertised or made transparent through signage on the
ground? Under the agreement, is
advertising (eg billboards) allowed on Council’s sports grounds, if so, who
gets this advertising revenue? Finally, Mr Mayor, are you
aware that Council’s Cabramatta Sports Ground, which is leased to Cabramatta
Rugby Leagues Club is literally littered with advertising for Jim Beam Whisky,
allegedly the ‘spirit of rugby league’?
