Police and Premier Neglects Cabramatta
Fairfields only Vietnamese-speaking Councillor, Thang Ngo has expressed disappointment at the unwillingness by the Premier and Senior Police to discuss the crime situation in Cabramatta.
Late last month, Cr Ngo wrote an open letter to the Premier, Police Minister and Police Commissioner (copy follows) expressing his concerns about the policing situation in Cabramatta.
"To date, I have not heard one word from their offices" said Cr Ngo
Yet the Police and politicians often run the line that the local community is unwilling to speak to and help the Police"
They call it a cone of silence"
Well here I am contacting them on behalf of my constituents, but they dont want to hear"
The sad fact is Cabramatta has long been neglected and it takes increases in drive by shootings and a murder before the Police hierarchy or the Minister will take notice according to Cr Ngo.
"The only cone of silence is that adopted by the Premier, the Police Minister and the Police Commissioner" concluded Cr Ngo.
