Media release CAC Welcomes New Police Chief Cabramatta Against Crime (CAC) lobby group looks forward to working with Mr John Sweeney, Cabramattas local area commander who was appointed today.
CAC was formed this month by residents and local business concerned about the lack of police resources in Cabramatta.
"CAC will be seeking to meet with Mr Sweeney at the earliest possible opportunity to put forward our concerns" said Fairfield Councillor Thang Ngo, CAC Co-Chairperson.
"We look forward to working closely with Mr Sweeney and local police to make Cabramatta a safer place to live"
CACs first initiative was the launch of "Safe Cabramatta" which encourages everyone to report all crime by calling Cabramatta Police on (02) 9725 8999 said Ross Treyvaud, Cabramatta Chamber of Commerce President and CAC Co-Chairperson.
If residents have problems communicating with Police because of language or other issues or are not satisfied with Police response, they can contact CAC to take the matter up on their behalf.
"Already, residents have lodged significant reports" said Mr Treyvaud.
"I will also present these business and resident concerns to the new Local Area Commander".
