SwimSafe

Last year 73 people drowned in NSW, that's 73 too many.

When I was asked by the NSW Sports and Recreation Department to help promote their SwimSafe water safety campaign for this summer (Dec 2001), I was more than happy to assist.

In fact, to show my full support for the campaign I even started swimming lessons!

Here's a few key tips from the Department to swim safe this summer:

* Learn to Swim
* Always supervise children near water
* Never swim alone
* Only swim between the red and yellow flags on the beach
* Fence off swimming pools
* Beware of fast-flowing water, submerged objects and deep water
